Winning Weekend!

Congratulations to the dancers and teachers of Artistic Dance Scene on a fantastic start to the Competitive Dance Season! Part of the Artistic Dance Scene competitive team participated at Dancefest on Family Day weekend…the very first competition in Artistic Dance Scene history. Their hard work and dedication earned them 1^st Runner-Up Top Scoring Studio, along with a number of other significant over-all awards. The teachers and parents of these dancers are extremely proud of their accomplishments and are looking forward to what else the competitive season will bring when the entire team competes at upcoming competitions.

Some of the significant awards from Dancefest include: 1^st Runner-Up Top Scoring Studio, Choreography Award – Kristy Baggetta, Most Potential Teen Dancer – Kiana Crummy, Top Mark Soloist, Top Lyrical Mark and Top Acro Mark – Mili Gomez, Top Overall Senior Group – the Elite Contemporary group (Lindsay Braun, Jenna Girardi, Brianna Murphy, Mili Gomez, Allison Shallcross), and 2 costume awards!

A big congratulations to all the dancers who participated, and wishing the entire Artistic Dance Scene Competitive Team the best of luck at all the competitions they will be attending over the next 3 months.

Spring is just around the corner!

It’s Groundhogs Day and although there were conflicting reports from across Canada, Ontario’s Wiarton Willie has predicted an early Spring! Either way we are looking forward to Spring…with it comes warmer weather, more dance classes, dance competitions, and dance recitals! Lots of fun in store for our Artistic Dance Scene families! Here’s to an exciting Spring for our dance studio!

PARENT VIEWING WEEK!

Parent Viewing Week for all Recreational dance classes is Monday February 4 – Saturday February 9, 2013. During this week parents are invited to sit in the class room and observe their child’s dance class in progress. This is a great opportunity for parents to see what the students have been working on so far this year. All the teachers and dancers are looking forward to sharing the dance class experience with their parents next week!

Happy New Year everyone! We hope you all had a safe and happy holiday and are looking forward to more fun and inspiring dancing in 2013!

Classes start up again on Monday January 7 for our Recreational and Competitive Programs. There are still a few spaces available in some of our Recreational classes. Registration for these classes will close at the end of January so contact us soon if you’d like to register.

There is also still space available in our Creative Movement Session classes for 3-6 year olds. Winter Session classes start on Thursday January 17 and run for 10 weeks. Please contact us for more information.

Adult Tap and Jazz

Our Adult Tap and Jazz classes will be postponed until March 2013. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Our Adult Ballet classes however will continue to run on Wednesday evenings from 8:30-9:30.
